Education- a blessing or a curse

President Henry B. Eyring of the first Presidency of the Church said, "The thirst for education can be a blessing or a curse, depending on our motives. If we continue to seek learning to serve God and His children better, it is a blessing of great worth. If we seek learning to exalt ourselves alone, it leads to selfishness and pride."

What can you do to make sure your motives for learning are always good? Need help answering this question? See Matt 6:23 for one good idea.

1. To keep me motivated to learn the right things for the right reasons I can... study the scriptures, volunteer and pray for guidance.

I like these ideas Spencer... you are one smart kid!! I think it is really important to remember that our life is a gift from Heavenly father and that we will feel the greatest joy and happiness and fulfillment as we discover what He would have us do and then do it.

Excellent, Spencer. Also I was thinking about how we are encouraged to increase our secular learning out of the best books. One time in Sunday school a few week ago a man said..."The fountain of youth is education." I really liked that because we should keep learning all the time and not just in school. Keeping interested in spiritual and secular things means learning for a life time and having a better life. Learning for a lifetime keeps you young too! Awesome!

This is a great way to use your blog! I look forward to what you will be writing!
